Centre Objectives

  • Promote interdisciplinary research collaboration at HKBU, particularly in organic electronic research, to achieve worldwide recognition and help propel HKBU to international prominence as a leading university in forefront cutting-edge research.

  • Develop critical electronic materials and processes to build technical expertise and intellectual property capital to contribute to propelling organic electronic technologies from laboratory to marketplace.

  • Mentor young early-career researchers in forefront research and train human capital (postdoctoral fellows and students) for a knowledge-based economy.

Centre Management

The Centre has a simple management structure with a Centre Director (Prof. Zhu Furong) and six core staff members from Departments of Physics (Prof. KW Cheah, Prof. SK So) and Chemistry (Prof. Ricky Wong, Dr. KN Ren, Dr. XJ Zhu and Dr. Ken Leung).  As a small organization, the Centre has been managed by a Steering Committee composed of four Faculty members, Prof. FR Zhu, Prof. Ricky Wong and Prof. SK So. The Committee meets semi-annually or as often as needed to discuss Centre matters regarding research, collaboration, funding, and teaching, etc.
