Haiguang Liu graduated in 2003 from our BSc in Physics and is now a tenured associate professor at the Beijing Computational Science Research Center. He did a final year project with Prof Tang Lei Han on lattice protein folding and published a paper on it. Now he is working on a number of important proteins in real life, including the light-gated chloride-pumping rhodopsin and the human receptor protein ACE2 in conjugation with the SARS-CoV-2 viral spike protein.
