A Journey Is Worth a Thousand Words - Cambodia Service-Learning Trip
A 7-day Cambodia Service-Learning trip - EnergyLingua, jointly organized by the Department of Physics and the Language Centre, successfully held from 26th May to 1st June at the Motherland Cambodia Education Center (MLC) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
During the trip, Dr. Martin Ma (Department of Physics) and Dr. Joshua Chan (Language Centre), together with 20 HKBU students, including those from the GEST major, delivered interdisciplinary teaching in Energy Science and English Language. Through hands-on workshops and activities designed by our students, they engaged with and inspired over 100 village children. Additionally, our GEST students helped install solar panels and solar light technology to brighten the night for MLC!
This meaningful experience not only empowered local children with a broader vision of global energy issues but also inspired and fostered global citizenship among our students.
