Exploring Future Mobility and Innovation: Physics Students Visit the GAC Science and Technology Museum
On 28 March 2026, students from the Department of Physics visited the GAC Science and Technology Museum in Nansha, Guangzhou, gaining immersive insights into the new energy vehicle industry and the leapfrog development of China's automotive technology. Organized by the HKBU Liaison Office, the visit was part of the "Greater Bay Area Explore" series of activities.

During the exhibitions and guided tours, a dedicated "New Energy Science and Innovation Workshop" was arranged, in which students worked in teams to design and build solar-powered model cars. This hands-on experience deepened their understanding of new energy power principles and automotive engineering design.

The subsequent "Automotive Industry Role-Play and Product Launch Pitch" session brought the interactive atmosphere of the tour to a climax. Students took on core roles in the automotive industry, simulating the full product launch and promotion process of a vehicle. They delivered well-structured, highly creative product pitches covering technical highlights, design concepts, market positioning, target user groups, and commercial value. This immersive exercise provided students with early exposure to industry operations and potential career pathways across the automotive value chain.

The Department of Physics remains committed to promoting experiential learning and providing students with early exposure to emerging industry trends. Through a diverse range of academic and practical activities, the Department continues to broaden students' technological perspectives within the Greater Bay Area.
