Robotics Workshop: Build, Program & Innovate
Robotics Workshop: Build, Program & Innovate
On 15 April 2026, the HKBU Department of Physics hosted a robotics workshop for Po Leung Kuk Laws Foundation College. Two teachers and Eighteen students joined the session for an inspiring afternoon of hands-on robotics exploration.

This workshop is a key component of the service-learning activity within GEST4027, an elective course for students in the BSc in Green Energy and Smart Technology (GEST) programme. Six students enrolled in GEST4027 were involved in organizing the workshop, where they designed the teaching materials and robotic projects for the participants. During the workshop, the participants were divided into six groups, each led by our students, who taught the participants the fundamentals of robotics and automation technologies throughout their designed robotics projects. Topics included Arduino programming, sensor integration, mechanical design, robot assembly and circuit building.

Through hands-on assembly and coding, our students experienced the thrill of bringing their creations to life—sparking curiosity and a strong sense of achievement. This service learning not only deepened students’ interest in robotics and automation but also encouraged them to further explore innovation and creativity in the future.
