We are proud to share that Professor Liang TIAN, Associate Head and Associate Professor of Department of Physics at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is invited to deliver a talk titled “Al for Traditional Chinese Medicine standardisation and modernisation and its integration with modern biomedicine” in the Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2025, a distinguished global gathering that convenes over 5,000 of the world's foremost thinkers, policymakers, and practitioners from diverse sectors.

Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is the proud Global Health Innovation Partner and the sponsor of the Health and Wellbeing Track at the Times Higher Education (THE) Global Sustainable Development Congress (GSDC) 2025. HKBU is committed to advancing sustainability through groundbreaking research and community engagement. This collaboration aims to foster innovative solutions and research in sustainable health and wellness, bringing together thought-leaders and experts from around the world.

In this talk, Professor TIAN will explore an innovative AI-driven framework that uses Transformer-based deep learning to create a biologically meaningful space for TCM symptoms and herbal treatments. This framework quantitatively captures the interactions between symptoms and herbs, offering a systematic way to assess treatment efficacy and disease mechanisms. By harmonising TCM’s holistic wisdom with cutting-edge computational methods, Professor TIAN provide a scalable, integrative tool that complements modern biomedicine—advancing personalised, sustainable healthcare for global well-being.
